AJT Recycling Limited in Swansea is the go to scrap metal recycling site. We have clients from both general public and commercial who frequently use our services. We can provide the option of collecting large quantities of scrap from your property or site, or alternatively we accept delivery to our own facilities.
At our scrap metal business, we strive to deliver a prompt and effective service for your scrap metal needs whilst prioritising our responsibility to the environment. With over a decade of experience in metal waste collection, we take pride in offering a cost-effective, trustworthy, and personable service to our customers.
Our team utilises electronic weighing technology to accurately measure the weight of your scrap metal. It is then sorted by hand according to sector and grade. This careful separation allows us to organise your metal into different compartments and determine the appropriate value for your scrap.
Our Story
Andrew met Karen Bowen who became his life partner.
1998
2000
Andrew and Karen purchased Blaenpant farm and formed a company K.B.H.S LTD, specialising in ground work, haulage and muck shifting with their 2 lorries.
Andrew and Karen continued to grow their fleet of trucks after securing large ground work contracts to include A465 road regeneration and Tesco’s superstore in Swansea.
2007
2008
The couple purchased their first 2 brand new Man trucks.
Sadly after a short illness Karen passed away leaving Andrew to continue the business on his own. Although devasted at the loss of his partner, Andrew continued to grow the business and diversified into scrap metal haulage. He brought in Jonathan Davies to help run the administrative side of the company a role that Karen had previously carried out.
2009
2011
Andrew achieves his lifelong dream of owning his own metal recycling facility in Swansea following in his father Mervyn’s footsteps. The 6 acre site in Fforestfach has enormous potential which Andrew is keen to Develop. The new company AJT Metal Recycling is born!
After huge investment, the Swansea yard has grown to be the best in the area. The site is now an authorised treatment facility (ATF) for end of life vehicles. Andrew’s sons have now joined the company as well.
2017
2018
The company invests in a huge Taurus 1000 tonne baler shear press at a cost of over a million pounds.
AJT continues to grow with the purchase of a trading estate in Carmarthen. We opened our doors to the first customers at our Carmarthen branch in November.

We Are Now Open In Two Locations!
As of 2021, by being better we have also gotten bigger! AJT Recycling is now also open in Carmarthen, so we can now cover the whole of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire! Come and say hello if you’re close by and let us help you with your scrap metal needs.
